Facebook can see your web activity. Here’s how to stop it!

If you haven’t been using the privacy feature Facebook introduced last year, you really need to start. It’s called Off-Facebook Activity and it lets you see and control data that apps and websites share with the platform and keep monitoring the kind of information third-party apps can access.

With the privacy feature, you can clear the history of apps and websites that have shared your data. You can also turn off future Off-Facebook activity, which tells Facebook to disconnect any information that the company has shared from your account. Or, you can selectively choose which companies you want to stop sharing your activity and it’ll stop showing you those targeted ads.

Rob, I love this article, but searched for an hour for the settings you mentioned and cannot find them. I would very much like to set these limits on my FB page. Perhaps we can review that at the next online class, even tho it is about Cutting the Cord? Thanks!

    • As I don’t use FB I am not sure I am the one to advise on this.  I might suggest you do a search for ‘Facebook Security Settings’.
